Two years ago, my son asked me if I would like three sessions with his personal trainer as a Christmas present, I said yes because I had been meaning to do some strength training in addition to walking. I really wanted to enter my 60’s stronger. It turned out to be a wonderful gift and a great decision. Fred is a very gifted trainer. She is not only very knowledgeable about anatomy and physiology so she can explain to me what muscles I am using which helps me focus on the right ones, she is also very observant (even over “Zoom”) so she can tell if I am doing the exercise correctly and she also gives excellent instructions. Beyond her expertise, she has an amazing sense of what I am capable of doing. Sometimes I think before doing a new exercise, “this is not possible for me” but usually it is something I can do, but I would certainly not have thought so without Fred’s encouragement. She also has a great sense of how much I can push myself to get stronger but not get sore or hurt myself. I feel so much stronger and daily activities are so much easier. And for someone who has always worn sweaters over short sleeve shirts, I am now able to wear sleeveless dresses in the summer because my arms and shoulders are toned.
